Pranayama is the fourth stage of Patanjali’s 8-Limbed approach to yoga. Asana, the physical practice most people are familiar with, is the third stage. This workshop is a bridge to experiencing the next level beyond asana, a world of yoga that is more subtle, more inward and more intuitive. We will discuss what exactly pranayama is and experience a taste of these ancient breathing techniques. Pranayama is a strong and powerful practice that can help regulate the autonomic nervous system and reduce stress, increase oxygen uptake and vitality, as well as detoxify the body more efficiently. Please arrive with an empty belly if at all possible!
