Serenity is going Up in Lights!

If you said to me before "Oh Michele, don't make a production out of it", I thought I knew what that meant.  But after last Sunday, I literally now know what it means to make a production out of something!

It was so cold out!  Poor Keri was outside most of the morning walking back and forth into studio! We definitely pulled a crowd too!  People stopped to see what the commotion was all about!

On Sunday, February 26th, Serenity Yoga shot its first commercial!  If you were following along on Facebook during the day, you got to see some of the play-by-play things we were doing.  To say it was an incredible experience is an understatement!  The producer and lighting grip (yep, we had a grip on set) said it was a small and very easy job.  If that was a small job, I'd really love to see what it takes to put an actual movie together!

I am incredibility grateful to Alex Terrill of Terrill Productions for producing our commercial. Alex, myself and Nunzio Bruno from The Disruptive Strategy Co created the storyboard a few weeks before and then Alex took it from there!  He developed the call sheet, hired the lighting grip, organized the shoots, envisioned the final product, shot every scene and now, at the time of writing this, he's in the process of editing the fine cut! A total professional, he made the day enjoyable and effortless for me and the talent!

I told them all to "take-5" which I learned actually means 5 hours, not 5 minutes!

I can't say enough about the Serenity students that gave up their entire day to be part of this experience.  You can not even imagine the amount of sitting around time.  I completely know why actors have trailers. They need a place to chill while lighting and shot set-ups are happening! I have an incredible amount of gratitude for Amanda, Beth, Lisa, Maureen, Keri and Josh!  Thank you for volunteering your time to basically sit around for 3.5 seconds of fame!

Molly is showing Keri the flow. This was just one of her jobs.

A special thanks to Molly Stamell, who not only stared in the commercial, but helped choreograph the yoga sequence and shlep equipment back and forth from the shoot to the van!  Without our friendship, none of this would have ever happened.

One of the perks of being a "star" was getting your hair and make-up done!  Melissa and Jenna from Spruce Salon did an amazing job!  We had a lot of fun playing with different styles that were designed to make us look like we just rolled out of bed to take a yoga class. It's not easy to portray relaxation and ease! Thanks Ladies!

And finally, a giant shout out to Johnny's Bar and Grille for providing lunch.  Food is a key component in keeping the talent happy.  Courtney from Johnny's was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and of course the food was amazing. Watch for a little Johnny's shout out in the commercial too!

So loads of people have asked me where this commercial is going to be shown. Our #1 location will be at Tower Theaters, for a year, before a movie is played!  This is a great opportunity to get your popcorn and arrive early to the theater to see our little community on the big screen! We'll also put it on the website, YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, and all these other social media sites I will learn about!  And then, who knows!  The sky is the limit!

That's a wrap!
