Serenity Yoga is conveniently located at 15 College Street in South Hadley, MA across from Mount Holyoke College.  Nestled in the heart of the Village Commons, the studio is a peaceful, cozy environment where the focus is on accessible classes, skilled teachers and the health and wellness of the community.  Serenity Yoga offers a variety of ongoing classes that include gentle and beginner yoga, moderate yoga and advanced vinyasa yoga. Two New Classes added to the schedule!

We are so lucky to have Andrea joining the Serenity teaching community! Andrea is a wonderful, thoughtful and playful yoga teacher. Her infectious smile and approach to yoga will be a wonderful addition to our family! Lucky us - she is adding TWO new classes to the Serenity schedule!

Please join her Wednesday nights from 7:15-8:15pm, starting April 8th, for 40+ Women's Moderate Yoga!

This is a moderate/intermediate practice specifically tailored to women 40+ with a focus on increasing fitness and flexibility. Each class will explore yoga postures at a moderate pace with an emphasis on building strength in a supportive and relaxing environment.

And then join her again on Friday nights from 6:00-7:00pm, starting April 10th, for Ayurvedic Yoga!

Embrace a yoga practice in tune with your Ayurvedic constitutions and New England’s 4 seasons! Ayurveda, known as the sister science to yoga, connects your body's needs to each season. Each week we will explore posture sequences with variations offered for each Ayurvedic Dosha. Blended with Ayurvedic wisdom and a Kripalu based teaching, this class emphasizes our relationship with nature through strength-building asanas, breathwork and meditation. Class is moderate and all levels of practioners welcome.

Andrea Caluori, M.A. is a 200 hour Kripalu certified instructor with a passion for teaching from a perspective of compassion and sincerity. Her grounding energy and gentle rhythm provides a supportive environment for her students as they explore their yoga practice. In addition to a regular asana practice, Andrea loves to explore yogic philosophy with recent inquiries into the Bhagavad Gita and the Radiance Sutras. She believes in yoga’s accessibility and discovery for everyone and creates a comfortable class atmosphere that encourages curiosity, mindfulness and non-judgment. Andrea’s classes offer students the opportunity to engage breath work, posture sequences, and deep relaxation.

I am truly blessed to be welcoming Karen Sheingold to the Serenity teaching community! Karen is known for the clarity of her alignment-based teaching, her warm humor, her inspirational themes and for her ability to challenge you while keeping you safe in your practice.

Please Join Karen Wednesday mornings from 9:00-10:15am, starting April 15th for All-levels yoga!

Students of all levels of experience and ability are welcome. Karen will offer options for beginners as well as more challenging options for the experienced yogi.

Karen Sheingold, RYT, PhD, has practiced yoga since 1990 and has been teaching since 2005. As a student, Karen practiced many styles of yoga (Iyengar, Kripalu, Ashtanga). As yoga became an integral part of her life, she was inspired to become a teacher (See blog, “Yoga Becomes Me,” for her story.). Through her  Anusara teacher training with Todd Norian, as well as her studies with many outstanding teachers, she became deeply committed to using heart-based themes and clear alignment principles in her teaching.

As an experienced teacher, Karen continues to be a student, learning more about yoga, yoga teaching, philosophy and especially about how to use yoga therapeutically to prevent and address physical problems.

With warmth, humor, clarity and a calm presence, Karen teaches classes that are life-affirming, heart-opening and empowering. In her classes, private and therapeutic sessions she encourages students to explore and appreciate the potential of their hearts, minds and bodies.

Pat Schumm is BACK starting Wednesday April 15th!Pat

We are so happy Pat is returning to her Wednesday night beginner class starting April 15th!

As you know, Pat was out of commission for the past few months in order to heal from back surgery. She is feeling much better and is ready to teach again! Please join her on Wednesday nights from 5:30-6:45 for a wonderful beginner class!

Stress exists in our daily lives, but sometimes it begins to catch up with us and our bodies as they absorb the shock. From diminished sleep to lowered quality of life, stress poses a real threat to our well-being. Restorative yoga works to combat the wear and tear of tension on the body by creating an environment in which the we can relax.

Have you always been curious about yoga and wondered why it is so popular nowadays? Or, have you been to a few classes and just felt lost?

In this 4-week class you will learn about how to get started in Hatha Yoga, a gentle basic style. We will break down basic poses and then put them back together to learn sun salutations, breathing techniques and guided meditation practices.

This class will be slow to moderate pace and adjusted according to the physical needs on the students.

Please join Ginny from 9:30am-10:45am for Slow Flow Yoga!

Slow Flow Yoga is a moderate to intermediate asana practice done at a slower pace with an inward focus on breath awareness, anatomical visualization, alignment, mediation and the movement of prana. Attention is paid to the individual expression of each pose. This class is deeply relaxing and transformative.
